Adaptation

So I finally watched “Adaptation” the movie that is based upon the book “The Orchid Theif.” Meryl Streep and Nicholas Cage were both in it along with Chris Cooper who I cannot pin point to an exact movie but he looked very familiar. All in all it was weird, not really like “The Orchid Theif” and at the end Meryl Streep learns how to extract drugs from the Ghost Orchid and turns into a drug addict who kills people. I don’t know about everyone else, but Meryl Streep does not seem like she would be a drug addict ever! I mean come on she was Cruella de Ville in “101 Dalmations.”

So I’ve always been fascinated by plants, but I have never been so captivated and taken back by the Orchid plants. I have recently just purchased my first my first Phalaenopsis orchid, it’s white (and the easiest orchid not to kill!) I have begun reading “The Orchid Theif” by Susan Orlean, which is actually a really interesting book so far. It really makes me want to travel to all those exotic places to go orchid hunting (only to look not to take!). The one orchid in the book that fascinates me and I suppose fascinates every other Orchid grower and collector is the Ghost Orchid or the Dendrophylax lindenii.

I decided to for my tatoo I am going to get one of those one my wrist or a rose I’m not quite sure which but the ghost orchid would definetly make a great tatoo!

hey all, I have found two websites that are worthy of checking out. One is www.sleepyheads.com which is a pajama, lingerie, acessories store. I only checked out their accessories, but they carry tons of really good brands. For instance they carry Sigg water bottles (which according to Time Magazine are one of the best new inventions), and they also have one of my favorite brands for accessories Blue Q. Blue Q also has a website that you could check out its www.blueq.com and they have everything from body care items to candy to bags. Their bags are fun and they are made out woven polypropylene which is kind of like a plastic their bags are realitively cheap and one of their totes (my favorite) the “crazy collage shopper” is only $11.99.

I found a really good website with lot’s of clothes I really liked. The website is www.soul-flower.com, it reminds of a more earthy, less expensive free people. The website has a lot of “hippie” type clothing and their motto is “cool threads for kind heads.” I especially like their tops, but they also have a variety of jam band t-shirts and hemp made items. If you are into earthy clothes or cute tank tops I suggest you take a look at what soul-flower has to offer.
